Building Equity, Serving BIPOC LGBTQ+ Communities Training Series

Stigma, discrimination and systemic barriers to care drive medical mistrust and thwart our ability to end the HIV epidemic. For members of the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community, experiences of discrimination can result in delayed care,  impacting health outcomes and quality of life. 

The Building Equity, Serving BIPOC LGBTQ+ Communities Training Series will provide people working in health care — from nurses and doctors to pharmacists and physical therapists — with the tools needed to build health equity in their settings. Objectives

  • Increase health care provider capacity to provide culturally competent care to BIPOC LGBTQ+ communities

  • Equip health care providers with knowledge of health inequities in the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community and strategies to improve health equity

  • How can I enroll in the training series?

    Click the "Enroll in the Training Series" button at the top of the page! You'll be asked to provide your name, email, location, organization, and profession. Once enrolled, all three course will be available on your Student Dashboard. We recommend that you complete the courses sequentially as the content builds throughout the series.

  • Is there a fee to participate in the training series?

    No, the e-learning series is provided free of charge.

  • Is a certificate of completion available for this series?

    Yes, a certificate is provided for completing the series. The certificate will be emailed to you after completion of the final course in the series.

  • Who should enroll in this series?

    All are welcome to enroll in the series - however, the series was designed for health professionals who provide care to those affected by and living with HIV.

  • How long will it take to complete the series?

    We anticipate that it will take learners approximately three hours to complete all three courses in the training series.

  • Do I have to complete the series in one sitting?

    No, you are able to leave and come back to the series where you left off.
